A few weeks following their impressive performance at WAFCON 2026, the Greens return to competitive action. Head coach Farid Benstiti has named a 26-player squad to face the Central African Republic on October 9 and 13 in the Olympic qualifiers. Benstiti unveiled the roster selected for the double-header against the Central African Republic, valid for the second round of African qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. Following their historic qualification for the upcoming 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil—a landmark achievement in Algerian women’s football history—and a third-place finish at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, the Greens will gather on Monday at the Sidi Moussa National Technical Center (CTN) ahead of their two-legged tie against the Central African Republic in the second preliminary round of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Football Tournament qualifiers. Following a mutual agreement reached with the Central African Football Federation, both fixtures (home and away) will take place in Algiers at the July 5, 1962 Stadium at 18:00. For this training camp, national coach Farid Benstiti has summoned 26 players, including several new faces such as defenders Celina Ould Hocine (Paris FC, France) and Sarah Compaore (Olympique de Marseille, France), midfielders Nesrine Bahlouli (Al-Nassr FC, Saudi Arabia) and Anais Oularbi (Vancouver Rise, Canada), as well as forward Celia Aggoune (RC Lens, France).
Both matches are scheduled for October 9 and 13, 2026, at 18:00. The goalkeeping department features Chloe Yamina N’Gazi, Amina Haley, and Amel Bernabdallah. In defense, the manager selected Melline D’Oria, Celina Ould Hocine, Ouassila Alouache, Morgane Belkhiter, Ines Belloumou, Emma Sahrina Smaali, Lana Smits Ouraghi, and Sarah Compaore. In midfield, Melissa Bethi, Wissem Bouzid, Lina Boussaha, Sofia Bekhaled, Nesrine Bahlouli, Amira Ould Braham, Marine Dafeur, Anais Oularbi, and Aicha Hamideche have been picked. In attack, Laura Taleb Muller, Ikram Adjabi, Lynda Bendris, Celia Aggoune, Ines Khiri, and Nouhed Nail complete the squad. Celina Ould Hocine, Sarah Compaore, Nesrine Bahlouli, and Anais Oularbi will all make their debut appearances for Algeria’s senior team, although Oularbi previously represented Algeria at youth levels.
The Greens assemble for the first time since their stellar showing at WAFCON 2026. Algeria eliminated Ivory Coast (2-1) in the quarter-finals before dropping their semi-final clash against Malawi (1-3), ultimately claiming third place against Morocco on penalties (1-1, 3-2 p). That tournament run also secured them a historic qualification spot for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
